Welcome to
Edmond.pm

Edmond.pm is a Perl Users Group based in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Everyone from central Oklahoma is welcome. Edmond.pm is an entirely member run organization.  The meetings are planned and ran by group members.  There is no "boss" who runs everything, although there is a group leader who keeps everything organized and functioning. Anyone who wants to can have a chance to be involved. What Edmond.pm is not is a free college.  We aren't here to train you in the IT industry.  We will help develop those already on their way.

The mission of  Edmond.pm is:

  • Continued Professional Development of its members,
  • Promoting Perl Usage,
  • To Bring Recognition to Top Perl Programmers
  • To Bring non-Perl programmers into the fold.

We try to meet these goals in many ways, but the primary desire is to promote these goals through monthly meetings, and an ongoing listserve.

Mandatory Perl

What Is Perl?  Perl is a (relatively) new programming language that is commonly used for shell scripting, CGI, web development, systems programming, and just about everything else.

What do I get out of joining? An immense sense of satisfaction?  How about the ability to network with and meet other people in your field, expand your knowledge of Perl and the IT industry, and help to open up your career options.

When do you meet? We have no set meetings time yet.  For information on joining or on attending a meeting, email us at info@edmond.pm.org.
